So, just how many people around the world are building lamps? I don’t know. But I do know there are a bunch of us. I’m talking about hand-crafted art pieces that illuminate. As the guy who first piqued my interest says, “Making cool s#!t light up!”
Here’s something else I found out; these guys are quite willing to share their knowledge. If it weren’t for the community, I wouldn’t have made a number of friendships, learned how to do things properly, or learned about sources, methods, and lots of other cool stuff. So, that inspired the “why” of the guild.
This is a place where lampmakers can meet to share knowledge, encourage one another, celebrate success, learn from our mistakes, and generally have a good ol’ time!
Up until now, I have just “visited” with my lamp buddies on Instagram. That’s good – but this is better. We will have regular contributors who post great content, a forum where we can discuss everything light, and a Facebook community as well. Everyone will be encouraged to add their input, so get ready.
So, welcome! Bring your light and let it shine! And if you’re not a maker, come on in and join the camaraderie – lampmakers are a pretty fun bunch!
